Service Description

Hadiya Movement is a comprehensive organization of physical movement techniques designed to bring the body hOMe to spirit. By engaging and challenging the body, we become better able to liberate the mind toward broader visioning and bolder action. To the point, by increasing our stamina, strength, and stability through learning, developing, and mastering various movement forms, the new actions we now envision have a more efficient vessel by which to manifest. It is a recursive endeavor—Hadiya Movement—flowing in and out of our physical, mental, and spiritual selves and the world around us. This is the mission of Hadiya Movement. The Hadiya Movement techniques themselves are diverse in both style and tradition. Full presence of mind always accompanies each of these practices of the body. Accordingly, joy, breathwork, and mindfulness are embedded in each Hadiya Movement technique. The techniques include 1) Dance, 2) Yoga, 3) Fitness, and 4) Tumbling. A brief description of each is as follows: Hadiya Movement Dance includes the study, practice, and mastery of ballet barre basics, West African dance, Cuban salsa, Afro-Brazilian samba, and modern choreography, rehearsal, and performance. Hadiya Movement Yoga engages the mind, body, and spirit through two Hatha-yoga based techniques: 1) racial and personal trauma-sensitive MindBody Centering Yoga, and 2) Freedom Flow dance-infused yoga Hadiya Movement Fitness is a calisthenics-based movement program that incorporates modified mat Pilates and addresses increasing flexibility, muscle strengthening, weight management, and overall improvement of physical health.
